New build shells from foundation to roof plate.
Trusted by developers and self-build clients across the Midlands.
We take on new build bricklaying packages for self-builders and small to mid-size developers. From a single plot to a small phase of homes, you'll get the same care and attention on every elevation.
Our side of a new build covers everything from the oversite up to wall plate: blockwork to damp course, cavity walls with insulation and ties, lintels and cills, gable ends, and any feature work such as stone detailing, soldier courses or brick arches. We work directly from architects' and engineers' drawings, and we're used to coordinating with site managers, scaffolders and the follow-on trades.
For self-builders, the process is more personal. Most people building their own home haven't managed a construction project before, so we take time at the start to explain the sequence — when the brickwork happens, what we need on site, and what decisions affect the finish. If you're still choosing materials, we can advise on bricks and stone that suit the design and the local area, and help you weigh up cost against appearance.
Consistency matters on a new build because the whole building is on show. We keep gauge and joint profile uniform across every elevation, check reveals and openings against the drawings before lintels go in, and protect finished faces from mortar splashes as we go. It's easier to keep brickwork clean than to clean it afterwards.
Working to current building regulations, we deliver clean shells that the rest of the trades can pick up from without picking up problems — and we build in the East Midlands weather, which means protecting fresh work properly when conditions turn rather than hoping for the best.
If you have drawings ready, send them over for a price. If you're earlier in the process, we're happy to talk through what's involved at the brickwork stage.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work for self-builders or just developers?
Both. We take on single self-build plots as well as small multi-plot phases. Self-builders get the same standard of work — plus a bit more guidance through the process if it's your first project.
What stage of a new build do you cover?
The masonry package: blockwork from the oversite, cavity walls with insulation and ties, lintels, cills, gables and wall plate — everything up to roof level. We work from your architect's and engineer's drawings throughout.
How do you price a new build?
From the drawings. Send us the plans and we'll price the brickwork package as a clear, itemised quote — labour, materials and any sundries. That gives you a fixed figure to build your budget around.
Can you help us choose bricks or stone?
Happily. We can advise on materials that suit the design, the local area and your budget, and arrange sample panels where the choice is between a few options. It's a decision worth getting right before the first load arrives.
How do you work with the other trades on site?
We're used to slotting into a managed programme — coordinating with scaffolders, groundworkers and the trades that follow us. The aim is a clean, snag-free shell that the next trade can pick up without remedial work.
